🧠 The Brains

Nicole Bayes

I Can Brain CEO, Founder, Educator

🌿More about Nicole…

Nicole began her journey as an academic with degrees in Literature, Media & Journalism from UCT, later completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. Alongside her teaching qualifications, she pursued extensive training in psychology & counselling – driven by both personal experience as an ADHDer & a deep curiosity about the connection between how we learn & how we feel.

With over six years of teaching experience in both South Africa & abroad, Nicole has also held various leadership roles in the education field, focused on mentoring & supporting fellow educators. Through these experiences, she developed a clear vision: learning should be individualised & grounded in emotional wellbeing. This vision ultimately became the foundation of I Can Brain: a company built around supporting learners, parents & educators alike.

As the Founder & CEO of I Can Brain, Nicole brings a deep commitment to empathetic, student-centred education. She guides her team to prioritise emotional & academic wellbeing while maintaining a genuine appreciation for how each brain learns – adapting accordingly.

Ginn

Education Support Specialist, Educator

🌿More About Ginn…

With a particular passion for both learning & teaching, Ginn holds an undergraduate degree in Literature, History & Classics, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education – both from UCT.

Ginn has an extensive background in education, having taught in a wide range of school environments since 2019. With their brilliance and broad experience in the field, Ginn brings an abundance of skill and empathy to I Can Brain – not only as a tutor, but also as our Education Support Specialist – helping to build our tutoring programmes and develop partnerships with schools, all with a particular focus on uplifting fellow educators.

Adding to their expertise in education, Ginn, as a neurodivergent person, understands first-hand the power of non-traditional learning approaches. Whether that means helping a learner pace the room while reciting notes or turning a tough concept into a visual sketch, they’re all about finding what actually works for each brain.
